Hao Wei is a PhD candidate in Economics at Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Germany. His research interests are in labor economics and innovation economics.
His current research examines both the direct and indirect effects of migration on innovation. On the direct side, he studies how high-skilled migrants contribute to innovation through their skills, knowledge, and technology, and how these effects vary across technological fields. On the indirect side, he studies how migration changes the diversity of the population and how different dimensions of diversity, including nationality, cultural, and linguistic diversity, affect innovation.
Hao holds an MSc in Economics from Friedrich Schiller University Jena and a BSc in Economics from Ludong University.
