Ghana and Tanzania Urban Household Panel Surveys 2004-2006

Availability

This data is made available by the Centre for the Study of African Economies at the University of Oxford. Permission for use of the data for academic research is given by the Centre. We ask that the use of the data, its sources, and the financing for the surveys be acknowledged.

Abstract

These surveys have been made possible by funding from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Department for International Development (DFID) of the UK government. Neither the ESRC nor DFID are responsible for any uses made of this data or of views expressed based on the data. Numerous individuals have assisted in designing the questionnaires and carrying out the surveys.
PDF files may be viewed using Adobe Acrobat Reader, available for free by downloading from Adobe's web-site. Please read this documentation before trying to download and use the data.

The 2004 and 2005 Tanzania UHPS datasets have been updated to include age and a label for the ethnicity variable. The 2006 data has not been updated as it already contained date of birth and the 2006 survey did not record ethnicity.
